I keep coming across people who tell me they are having trouble recruiting into their network marketing company. This is quickly followed up by the question “What am I doing wrong?”
This is a pretty common problem, and many of us have been in the same boat before. The trick is to figure out what you are doing wrong, and setup an action plan to get moving in the right direction.
Ok, so let’s dive into some steps that can help you recruit more people into your business.
1. Get To Work – There are really only two things you should be focusing on. First, presenting your business to 10+ people per day. However you do that is up to you, but the better the relationship you have with the person, the better the conversion rate. Second, converting those business presentations into sales. Without these two, you will not see your recruitment rat increase.
2. Ask Tons Of Questions – When you talk to prospects, you need to focus on asking questions.As you ask more questions and get to know your prospect, they will naturally open up. Your prospect will start getting into what it is that they want and you may have an opportunity to present your business. Remember, you are providing a solution. Don’t offor your opportunity if it will not provide a solution to a problem your prospect has mentioned.
3. Overcome Your Fears – You will need to take a long look in the mirror for this one. There is a reason why you choose to start your own business, and you really need to dig deep on this one. Ask your friends and family to help remind you why you joined. Many times, they can remember the excitement in your eyes, your excitement day in and day out, and can inspire you. What got you excited the most? Find the motivation, and tackle one fear at a time. As you overcome each one, your confidence will increase, and your fear will slowly disappear.
4. Focus On Your Strengths – Take the time to identify what strengths you bring to the business. Can you talk to anyone you meet? Are you Internet savvy? Focus on your strengths, and build upon them. All too often, people think they have to shore up all the areas where they are weak, and this simply is not true.
5. Brand Yourself As A Leader – YOU ARE THE EXPERT! Period. You are the professional anytime you are talking to prospects. You are the one conducting an interview with them, to find out if they are worthy of your time, not the other way around. You must become a leader very quickly. The quicker you can become a leader and get out on your own, the sooner your recruit stats will increase.
6. Follow Up With All Your Prospects – The fortune is in the follow up, but many people neglect to even contact their prospects back! Many studies have been done on this, and it takes at least 6 follow ups before you will get a yes, so keep following up! Remember, there are two major things happening in your prospect life – 1. They actually have a life, and are probably busy dealing with it & 2. Trust needs to be better established. When you spend the extra time to professionally follow up, you show that you are there as a friend, not a scammer out to make a quick buck.
7. Focus On The Facts – Stick with the facts, and don’t over hype your opportunity. When you share opinion, make sure to let your prospects know it is opinion. Utilize company resources to back up your facts, and provide value to your prospects. This will help you recruit quality business builders.
8. Believe In Your Company/Product/Service – You must visibly believe in your business. It needs to radiate out of you in everything you do, from your prospecting calls, to presentations. Your business will die out if you do not believe in it.Don’t worry if you don’t have a huge amount of belief right away. It’s not about you, it’s about other people! . Talk to your upline or other distributors. Collect testimonials Collect as many of these as you can, to help build your belief! (They also come in handy later on when you need to share a testimonial).
9. Listen To Your Mentor – Your mentor has been through the problems you are facing, and knows how to guide you through them. Don’t do things differently for fun. If the system works, follow it. Once you are making as much as they are, that is when you can change things up and make new rules
10. Stay Organized And Focused – Don’t stay unfocused for too long. The task at hand is the most important task; stay focused and organized and you are golden. There will always be something else to do, so let other things go to focus on the important things.
